About

Connor was born April of 2008 with Down Syndrome, or the medical term Trisomy 21. He also had a heart condition with a VSD or Ventricular Sepal Defect that required open-heart surgery at the young age of 2 months old. After Connor’s Heart Surgery, he had to have some additional smaller surgeries over the next few years. This meant multiple hospital visits, ongoing doctor’s visits, and weekly meetings with therapist and consultants. It was this experience and lack of information for families with special needs that we felt compelled to do something to raise awareness about Down Syndrome. This was not only for families going through what we went through, but also to raise the awareness to others about the needs for these kids, what they are capable of, and the joy they can bring.

With a passion for cars, trucks, motorcycles or anything with an engine in it, we decided to have a car show to raise awareness and to raise funds that we could donate back to the organizations that helped us.
With some friends at the time, we collectively decided to create a car show called “Connor’s Car Show” in honor of my son.

The initial idea was to have one show, raise awareness and donate the money collected. Well that was the thought anyway, because after the success of our first show pulling in 196 cars and raising $16,000. With such a great first year, the Mayor of Keller asked us to make this an annual event. Each year going forward now has raised more funds than the previous year. We have had a max so far of 540 cars, and our largest amount raised in one year was $76,000. To date we have raised over $400,000 that we donated to specific charities aligned with helping special needs kids.

We are committed to raising awareness and inclusion for children and adults with Down Syndrome and other special needs, such as physical or developmental disorders. We are also committed to raising funds to donate to charities that have a core focus on helping said children.
